Back in late August, we created Animal Jam Wiki:Inactivity. It was intended to publicize when staff members when inactive, since we had experienced multiple issues in which people tried to de-right staff members they didn't like, citing inactivity because they didn't realize said users had a template on their page.
Although the templates should remain in use, this page is an important reference. I'm looking for ideas on how to publicize it more.
If an absence is going to be prolonged (such as GhostKat, who - despite not writing on the inactivity form - has a template on their page that states a return date of Dec. 1), we might wanna consider electing an interim staff member for more important positions. This is all very up in the air as of now, so... feel free to comment without voting. I don't even know if it's a vote yet.

Thought I'd update - this is not necessarily a vote, and you do not have to vote at all. Although no one's actually cast a decisive vote yet, I have to make clear that this is first and foremost a discussion thread.
