Animal Jam Classic Wiki:Page Formatting

This page lists the suggested formats for a variety of different Animal Jam article types. Text placed in parentheses, like "(optional)", represents something that is optional depending on the article's content. Text placed in brackets, like "[replace with info]", represents important information that the article should include. Text divided by slashes, like "option1/option2", represents a choice of words to be used depending on the article's content. Text shown in italic parentheses, like "(comment)", represents a comment to explain parts of the article and it should not actually be included in the article.

Common Mistakes

• pages should only by edited if there is a clear correction to be made or new relevant information to be added
• spellings should use American English (example: use "color" instead of "colour") - vote regarding topic
• do not list out all of the color varieties for an item because naming of colors is frequently disputable - discussion/vote reference needed
• pages dedicated to unreleased content should have {{UnreleasedNotice}} at the top - discussion/vote reference needed
• unreleased variants should be placed on a sub-page of the released variety (example: Clover Window & Clover Window/Unreleased Variants) - discussion/vote reference needed
• Rare Item Monday releases should be added to the item page they are based on in most cases
• "varieties" is preferred when counting the types of an item instead of "variants" because "one variant" is ambiguous and could imply more than one (the original and then the variant of the original) whereas "one variety" implies just one of something
• content should be factual and provable, not opinions (value/worth) or speculations (fan theory)
• the "Rare tag" in infoboxes and the Category:Rares is not related to values/worth
