The old badge selection screen
Badges are the images that appear to the right of a Jammer's name tag. Only members can change their badges, while non-members automatically get the default light blue paw badge. Badges will always be the same color as the Jammer's name tag.
Types of Badges[]
There are 61 different badges that players can choose from by default:

Special Badges[]
The News Crew badge and the Animal Jam badge are special badges that are not available to all Jammers. The News Crew badge is a camera and the Animal Jam badge is a logo that says "AJ". The News Crew badge is only available to News Crew reporters and the Animal Jam badge can only be seen on NPCs, Animal Jam Guides, and Jam-A-Grams from AJ Classic HQ. All Jammers can see these badges, whether they are the wearer's buddy or not.
Changing Badges[]
In order to change badges, the player must go to their player editor by clicking on the bottom-left button displaying their animal. Then, they must click on the name tag above the player's animal. A selection of badges should pop up after they have done this, and they can choose a badge from the selection.
Trivia[]
- The Flower, World, and Lightning badges were designed by the three winners of a nametag badge contest held on the Jamaa Journal and The Daily Explorer from March 15 to March 23, 2012.
- There is a glitch where the player's own badge will fail to load and show up blank.
- There is a glitch where a player's buddy request was accepted, the other player's badge will show up blank.
- In February 2016, there was an update that changed the tone of the Member Nametags/Badges.
