Eco Credits are a form of currency to buy eco items, such as the Eco Wind Turbine and the Eco Solar Panel. It was announced on July 2, 2020, and was made obtainable on July 6 after players who logged in for five days during the month received the Eco Wind Turbine. The player can see how many Eco Credits they have by clicking on an eco item that is placed in their own Den to open the My Eco Score interface.
Appearance[]
Eco Credits appears as a green ticket, with a green light bulb and two arrows circling around it.
Earning Eco Credits[]
The player can earn Eco Credits by placing eco items in the player's active den. After a certain amount of time, energy collected by the eco items will convert into Eco Credits. To redeem their credits, the player can then open the My Eco Score interface and click on the round, green button above the "Eco Credits" text. However, players can only store at most 240 Eco Credits before redeeming them. The number inside of the green button represents the amount of Eco Credits stored, though it is expressed as a percentage of the maximum threshold. Thus, a number of 100 on the button translates to 240 Eco Credits.
Eco Points[]
Each eco item placed in the player's den will modify their number of Eco Points, which determines the hourly rate at which the player will earn Eco Credits. The player can determine the number of minutes it will take to earn one Eco Credit by dividing 60 by the number of Eco Points. For instance, with 10 Eco Points, the player will earn one Eco Credit every six minutes. The player will receive rewards for reaching a certain amount of Eco Points; they will receive a Wood Eco Plaque for 30 Eco Points, Silver Eco Plaque for 50 Eco Points, and Gold Eco Plaque for 100 Eco Points.
Spending Eco Credits[]
The player can spend Eco Credits at the Eco Shop, which sells eco items. The first items available in the Eco Shop were the Eco Generators. On August 13, 2020, Eco Consumer Items were added to the shop.
Eco Generators[]
Eco Generators contribute to the player's Eco Points. Currently, there are only two Eco Generators: the Eco Wind Turbine, which contributes 10 Eco Points, and the Eco Solar Panel, which contributes 5 Eco Points. These items will automatically increase the player's Eco Points upon being placed in a den and do not require any further prompting from the player to be activated.
Eco Consumer Items[]
Instead of generating Eco Points, Eco Consumer Items, such as the Eco Ground Light and Eco Salt Lamp, consume 3 of the player's Eco Points. To activate an Eco Consumer Item, the player must click on that item in their den, then toggle the switch to activate it. That will make the Eco Consumer Item light up. However, the player is required to have enough Eco Points to power their Eco Consumer Items before they can activate the items.
Trivia[]
- Previously, the interface displayed the exact amount of unredeemed credits stored but this was changed to a percentage on August 13, 2020.
- The player can obtain negative Eco Points by consuming more Eco Points than they generate. When this happens, all of their activated Eco Consumer Items will deactivate immediately.
- Eco items and Eco Credits were introduced as part of the Green Mobile Game Jam, an initiative started by the Playing for the Planet Alliance and funded by the United Nations Environment Program. As part of the event, several mobile games incorporated new features that would help raise awareness for climate change and renewable energy.
- When the owner of a den toggles any Eco Consumer Item on or off, there is a glitch where all other players in the den will automatically move towards the top left part of the den.
