Games, often referred to as "mini-games," are the short video games in Animal Jam Classic that Jammers can play to earn various rewards. As a feature, games have been around since Beta Testing, although many games have been added since then. The main Games menu can be accessed via a game controller icon among the menu buttons at the top of the game screen; this menu can be used to access most mini-games.

Game Types[]

Single-Player[]

Single-player games involve only the player that starts the game. The rewards for playing these types of games are typically Gems, but some games (such as Sky High and the Touch Pool) include special prizes. These games can be played either by clicking on one of the floating game controllers around Jamaa or by clicking them in the Games menu. Many single-player games have their own set of Achievements that can be obtained by playing the games. A list of single-player games is as follows:

Micro Games[]

Micro-games are extremely short single-player games that typically last only a matter of seconds. These games don't reward Gems like most single-player games; instead, they often reward an item or something temporary like a Holdable Icon.

Multiplayer Mode[]

Some single-player games have an optional "Multiplayer" mode that allows two Jammers to compete against one another in the game. When this mode is selected, a "Join Me" speech bubble appears above the player until another Jammer joins the game or the player clicks the game again. Buddy Games[]

Buddy games are two-player mini-games that were originally introduced for use between Buddies but were later expanded to all Jammers. All of these games are competitive and reward the winner with 20 Gems while the losing Jammer receives only 5 Gems. Jammers can be challenged to a buddy game by selecting a game from the Games tab on their Player Card, but the player being challenged can decline if they choose to. Alternatively, Jammers can start a buddy game from their Games menu and wait for an opponent to join them, not unlike hosting an adventure. The list of buddy games are as follows:

Multiplayer[]

Multiplayer games involve at least six players, but the other players may be Bots if there are not enough Jammers playing. These games are competitive and run in a loop of rounds; after each round, a ranking of each player is displayed along with their Gems reward, which is larger for better ranks. Others[]

Some games don't fit into these groups due to differences:

Overflow

  • Like the Touch Pool game, Overflow is unusual because it can be played indefinitely and while the player can fail a level, they can retry as many times as they wish with no penalty.

River Race

  • While very similar to the other single-player mini-games that include the Multiplayer Game mode, River Race allows up to four players to join. Also, when the multiplayer mode is selected, a player list pop-up appears, preventing the player from moving around with the game invite.

Touch Pool

  • The Touch Pool game is a special case because, unlike most single-player games, the player can never lose and there is no end to the game until the player decides to quit.

Trivia[]

  • Periodically, a game will be given a Gems multiplier that will typically double the reward for playing that game.
  • Buddy games were updated on October 13, 2011, to allow any Jammers to play with one another rather than only buddies.
  • Buddy games were added to the Actions menu on November 7, 2013, but that was changed on September 29, 2016, when they were moved to the Games menu.
  • Most of the mini-games are inspired by or based on other existing games, while only a small handful of them are completely original.
