The Search For Greely Adventure Button

The Search For Greely is a non-member Adventure that was released March 20, 2014. It was originally released as a member Adventure but in the January 18, 2018 update all Adventures except The Forgotten Desert became available for all Jammers. The hard difficulty mode was released on April 17, 2014. This Adventure follows the plot of Greely's Inferno, as Graham leads the player in finding out what happened to Greely after he stopped the volcano from erupting. This Adventure is also the introduction of the Phantom Fortress.

Walkthrough[]

1. The player spawns inside the volcano that was used for the Greely's Inferno Adventure. Graham and several Monkeys are searching the scene for any clues to Greely's disappearance. Graham asks the player if they can help. The player then explores the volcano, speaking with some monkeys along the way who have found interesting pages of Greely's journal.

2. Eventually, the player meets Graham in Greely's secret hideout, which was used as the Wolf Gate for Greely's Inferno. The pages make Graham wonder whether if Greely was studying the Phantoms or working with them. The journal pages also include colored shapes. The two find a door with a three shape code lock.

  • The wheels on the door must be rotated to match the pattern revealed by the monkeys on the player's way in. In normal mode, there is one possible pattern: circle, star, triangle. There are two possible patterns in hard mode: square, triangle, diamond and diamond, circle, star.

3. After unlocking the door and exploring the other hideout, Graham and the player find a Phantom Portal that only Phantoms can go through. After talking to Graham, the player receives a Phantom Crystal that can be placed into Greely's machine to activate it. Once activated, the machine spews a purple goop that turns the player into a Phantom after stepping into it.

4. Once the player is disguised as a Phantom, they are able to pass through the Phantom Portal to search for Greely. Before passing through the Phantom Portal, Graham warns the player to be safe, still considering Greely as a possible traitor.

  • Before advancing to the next part of the Adventure, the player can also go back and open the Phantom gate.

5. The player enters the Phantom realm after passing through the portal. The Phantom disguise quickly wears off, leaving the player back in their original form. After walking deeper into the realm, the player finds Greely, who is trapped in a case secured to the ground with four locks, and closed shut with an additional lock. In order to free Greely, the player first must find four keys—each in consecutive rooms—and unlock the padlocks. The Phantom Keys are scattered in the outward reaching rooms from the large main room Greely is held captive in. They can be searched for in any order.

  • Two keys can be found in a room which splits into two near the top right corner of the main room. In the left room the player must dodge Phantom Watchers, there is a switch in the corner near the entrance which will disable the smaller reaching Phantom Watchers. Once the player gets to the end of the room they can disable the long reaching Phantom Watchers and grab the key and head back, which is interrupted by Phantom Sprouters that the player must destroy with Boomseeds to escape from safely.
  • The right room of the room which splits into two is filled with Phantom Pods blocking the laser the Phantom Watchers emit. There are a number of hiding places the player can use to avoid the lasers. The player must destroy the Phantom Pods in order to move forward to the end, where a key and lever is. After turning off the Phantom Watchers, Phantom Sprouters will spawn and Phantom will bombard the player as they escape unless they are dealt with using Boomseeds.
  • The bottom right corner is blocked by a Phantom Web, behind it is a Phantom and numerous Phantom Pods that the player must destroy in order to steal the key. After the player reaches the end and steals the key Phantom Sprouters will grow in and summon Phantoms which will attack the player again.
  • The area at the bottom left of the main room is a maze-like area that is filled with Phantoms and Phantom Watchers, the player must dodge all of these obstacles in order to get to a key guarded by numerous Phantoms. Entering the area is blocked by Phantom Pods which the player will need to destroy, they will have to enter a room filled with Phantom Watchers and Phantoms blocking the way, they can be disabled by a switch to the left blocked by more Phantom Pods. After the Phantom Watchers are turned off, the player can progress to the right which has a path blocked by Phantom Pods and a Phantom Watcher leading deeper into the area. At the side is a Phantom Watcher oscillating, the player must enter when the Phantom Watcher is out and destroy the Phantom Pods which block the way there. On Normal Mode the key is behind a group of Phantoms circling around with a lever in the background, in Hard Mode the key is further down the same path, going back to the small original pathway before. After receiving the key and flipping the switch Phantom Sprouters will emerge and attack the player once again.

6. Once the last ground lock is unlocked, a siren goes off, and two Phantom Kings appear and the player must fight the two in the area around Greely. The Phantom Kings will spawn Phantoms when they are attacked.

7. The player then must defeat both Phantom Kings, after which they will get the last key to unlock the case and finally free Greely. Once he is freed, Greely tells the Player how surprised he was to discover two Phantom Kings, and how the player was able to fight them both.

8. The player must make their way back to the portal where Greely will meet them there, Greely is to discover they are unable to go through due to the lack of Phantoms being near. Liza, Cosmo, and Graham appear conveniently and turn the portal on.

9. The four Alphas then talk amongst themselves, seeming to have a conversation about why Greely was here in the first place and bring up the possibility of the Phantoms using the Phantom Fortress, which was just considered a myth before then. Once their conversation is over, the Player can choose their prize and can leave through the portal.

Tips[]

  • It is suggested to wear a high damaging Weapon in order to destroy the many Phantom Pods in the Phantom realm.
  • In the split right room the player should not destroy all of the Phantom Pods, as they block the lasers that will instantly put the player to sleep.
  • Stocking up on Boomseeds is recommended for the end of each key area as Phantom Sprouters will always spawn as the player returns back.
  • Destroying all the Phantoms and Phantom Sprouters is suggested in the case the game lags, especially in the case of the Phantom Kings fight.
  • When fighting the Phantom Kings, it is advised to stay as close as possible to Greely's cage as Phantoms never patrol there and it is a spawn point for Boomseeds. When walking around the upper part near the chain, the player will have to walk up then past, as no other way is accessible unless going around the entire circle.
  • Causing both Phantom Kings to slam near the same spot is recommended as the player will save Boomseeds for the rest of the fight and for Phantoms that may attack them.

Trivia[]

  • There was a possible glitch on the first day of its release where non-members were able to play this Adventure. It changed to members-only shortly afterwards and stayed that way until the update in 2018.
  • This is the first Adventure without a specific Animal gate in Normal Mode. Instead there is a "Phantom Gate", which can be accessed when the player disguises themselves as a Phantom. Because of this, any animal that has the Phantom disguise on can open the gate. This makes this the first Adventure with a gate available for all animals.
  • All of the Alphas that appeared in the previous Adventures also show up at the end of this Adventure.
  • This Adventure proves the existence of two Phantom Kings rather than one, which was assumed by many.
  • This Adventure has a setting that looks like the Phantom Vortex and has the same music in certain parts.
  • The map in the Phantom realm appears as a Phantom.
  • This is one of the two places to get the Phantom Armor Set, but it is only in the prize chests in Hard mode, the other one is in the small Epic Chest in the Lucky Clovers Adventure.
  • There is a glitch where when a player exits the Adventure in a Phantom disguise, the Phantom will be still there, but not the player's nametag. The remaining player will not be able to interact with the Phantom.
  • Sometimes, the player will lose hearts for no reason while returning the bottom-right key in the Phantom realm.
  • There is a glitch where a player is put into a deep sleep by Phantoms but will not respawn and will be able to move around, but will not be able to interact with objects.
  • There is a glitch where the slamming animation of the Phantom Kings are slower than the sound effects.
